It can cause otitis externa or swimmers ear. Save your money and don't buy Swimmers Ear. You can make an easy solution from things you probably have in your kitchen. Make a solution of half white vinegar and half rubbing alcohol. Lay down and put drops of the solution into your ear canal. Leave them there for a few minutes and then repeat on the other side. You should do this every time you swim or shower to ensure your ears a free of water. Some people have ear canals that don't drain like they should just because of how they are shaped.
If you are having any pain, blood or discharge from you ear, see a doctor. These are signs of an outer ear infection and need to be treated with antibiotics.

Yes it can cuz the bacteria can grow quite quickly in the dark moist inner ear. You might try swimmers ear dorps first to dry the ear canal out, but if it doesnt go away in a day.. see a Dr.

It might be able to but I doubt it. My husband is a surfer and he always has water in his ears. Put a few drops of rubbing alcohol in your ear and it will dry it up. They also sell in the stores a product called swimmers ear that dries it up.

Indeed it can. Bacteria love warm moist environments, and having water in the ear can cause an ear infection!

Yes, its called "Swimmer's Ear". You can buy "Swimmer's Ear" drops at the drug store. It will dry up the water. Also, you can mix about 95% Rubbing Alcohol and distilled water, put it in your ear with a dropper and it will do the same thing. Good luck. Pops

I don't think so. Just do the old routine- jump up and down and whack your ear with your hand while holding your head to that side- I'm not kidding. It's always worked for me!
