I am 40, was in the Navy for a long time, and I still do not have that tat that I have always wanted. Problem is I have had a hard time deciding where and what.
My favorite idea so far, is getting one on each big toe. The first idea is to get brightly colored flowers with maybe that groovy, hippie look. My other idea is a revolver pointed towards the other toe and on that second toe, having a target that has a hole or two in it with a bullet flying towards it.

The thing is my hobby is shooting and gunsmithing, but I am always barefoot so people call me a hippie. Everytime I mention these ideas to anybody, they think these ideas and location are very odd.

What do you all think? Is there anybody with tats on there toes? Will it stop hair growth on the toes?

it won't stop hair growth. but i like your ideas they are kind of strange but they're personal and that's what matters. i say go for it and don't let someone tell you what to get.

It does sound like an particularly lovable theory even though it would possibly no longer final very long. you're continuously strolling on your ft and the feet rub against your footwear and socks. i might seek for advice from with an artist to work out whether that is a superb theory. I have been given a toe ring 15 years in the past and it harm. basically went over the precise of the toe and not around it and now it basically kinda sounds like a blob of ink even although I took excellent care of it. It harm a sprint because of the fact it develop into this variety of small spot yet no longer insufferable. good luck1

I like the flower idea, the gun might be a bit small if you really want it on the big toes only? Might need to cover a bit more of the foot to make it easily visible when you're walking & other people are standing/walking around you too...

I don't have any permanent tats but I used a tatoo marker to draw some vines on my feet on special occasions, if I'd ever get a real tatoo I'd prolly get something like that :)

I like the gun idea with the target, but toes are somewhat small so you might have to get it done just above your toes. I'm not entirely sure, you'd have to talk with an artist about that. I like strange ideas like yours, it makes it more unique, which is awesome.

Bad idea: getting a camel tattooed on your toe. I've seen it, its good for a laugh, but so stupid.

Hair usually does grow back in the area. I have a huge leg piece and hair does grow back, but some spots on it seem to be bare.

Its different but I like it....very original. The only problem with getting tats on your feet is that they sometimes fade very fast. Only because of socks and shoes constanitaly rubbing up against them but you said you are always barefoot. So I guess if you never have on shoes it will ok. I would just try to place them on you foot where there is not a whole lot of rubbing from the socks and shoes when you do wear them.

i don't think that a tattoo of a gun will be very practical on your toe. it's not big enough. why don't you get a tattoo on top of each of your feet? you could get a gun shooting and a target on the other foot. VERY COOL and original. or you could get flowers on a foot but i would not go for something so small as a toe. the feet tend to fade faster than other tattoos and a toe tattoo just won't hold up over time. i have two foot tattoos and i love them!

I like your dual-toed tattoo idea, especially since you are into shooting.
My niece has a groovy butterfly on one of her big toes. Lil' hairs still grow there. It still looks cool, though, because the hairs are fine and you can't really see them unless you look up close, and who would do that anyway?

as someone with tattoos on their feet(not toes) its a little painful, but worth it . the only downside to your feet is that you will have to get it recolored every so often b/c the rubbing against shoes socks and what not will fade them. most places will not even do toe tattoos so go with the top of the foot!

Tatoos are meant to serve as a mechanism for people to express their individuality. Get what you want because what you want expresses you somehow. Who cares if people think its odd. Imagine what you would think if you saw someone who had a tatoo of oh say a coke bottle and you asked them about it. What would you think of that person if they said, "I really wanted to get a pepsi bottle but everyone else said coke would look more cool." You would probably think that person was a follower. Do you want to be a follower as well? Lead your own life.

so many places won't hire people with tats (even vets).......a toe would be a great place to put it.............anywhere near a bone, i hear, hurts! i have one on my arm, just above my sleeve line..........& i was surprised how much it didn't hurt..............if you wear sandals or toe rings, it'll look great
