My husband is in Iraq right now. He is coming home on leave in July and I was wanting to plan a small trip for us. Like a long weekend. Where are the better places to stay at in Washington DC?

Can't go wrong with Sofitel, great upscale chain, with great rooms and service. Also, The Renaissance, Four Seasons, Ritz Carlton are all great, these are the best, but also the Embassy Suites on 10th is supposed to be very nice also.

We really enjoyed the Homewood Suites right in DC. The bets part about that place is the free breakfast, the good location and the great staff (not to mention that every room is a suite with a kitchen, refrigerator and stove).

The have great weekend rates.
