As in the bridal party or a groomsman? If so, did you like what you had to wear?

Yes, I was a flowergirl years ago, I did not like what I had to wear and they made my hair all poofy.

The first wedding I was involved in, I was the Bride's Attendant, and boy was THAT ever miserable! I didn't even get to see the ceremony or have any free time at the reception. :-(

The second wedding I was in, I DESPISED my dress! The guys get to wear tuxes and call it good enough, but the bridal party is expected to wear whatever the bride thinks looks good, never mind that you'll never find a dress style/cut or color that is complimentary to everyone.

When I got married, I found a color that both attendants liked and then I let them choose the dress pattern, and had the dresses custom made. It wasn't as expensive as you'd expect!

I've been a bridesmaid in 2 different weddings and both were different styles. One was a cute red and white dress and I liked it, but it was definately not something I would wear anywhere else after the wedding was over. The other was a sleek lavander dress that I love and I know I will keep it forever and wear it again if I go to a party or someone elses wedding.

I was a bridesmaid 5 times. Each time, the bride said "you'll be able to wear this dress again". I never did, but i knew i wouldn't wear it when i bought the dress b/c i didn't like any of the dresses!. I was happy to be a part of the close friends and family members special day. Oh, and it doesn't matter if you don't like the dress, nobody looks at the bridesmaid anyway!! And it didn't stop me from having a great time at all the weddings!

i remember being part of a wedding and i felt it would actually be so boring but it was a great experience to be with friends and family. the only time i didn't like about the wedding was that i had to spend a whole day trying out dresses and finding something that matched all the other dresses. but after it was all over i never thought the day would go so smooth and feel wonderful. although i do have to say i felt stressed at the beginning. perhaps .... you will have a great time as well if you do come out or if you don't!!! have fun!!

I was maid of honor in my best friends wedding and we had the most beautiful dark purple dresses. I loved what I had to wear because we of course share many of the same tastes in clothing and stuff. My maid of honor and bridesmaids at my wedding loved the dresses I picked because we all had similiar tastes and likes. It's easy to find something everybody likes these days with all of the dresses that are out there. Of course my bridesmaids and I were all generally thin and tall and we all were at my best friends' wedding too. It' can be harder if you have girls of different heights and weights because some will hate how they look in the dress the bride picks. But, hey - when you're not the bride - you're there to make bride happy so it doesn't matter if she picks a 60s orange dropcloth. You really should just be civil and say you like it anyway to make her happy and make her feel less stressed - just go with the flow when you're not the bride - really.

I was the Maid of Honor and even though the dresses weren't bad looking at all, once the wedding was over I took it to a tailor and had them shorten it to just below the knee. I got to wear it 6-8 more times like that to semi-formal events and out to eat at nice restaurants. It's really something I encourage brides to keep in mind when choosing the dress, see if it would look good shortened. Your attendants will appreciate it. My husband was a groomsman and the tuxes werent' bad, but when they coupled it with purple/lavender vests and ties and had "box-weave" patent leather shoes he looked like a pimp (as did the rest of them)

I have been in two weddings as a bridesmaid. The first dress I loved! It was lilac, satin, with spaghetti staps, and a very short train. It was gorgeous. The second dress I hated. It was supposed to be silver with a black lace top. It was a dark grey with the black lace and looked like a funeral dress. Yuck! It couldn't even be called elegant. Frumpy more like it. I wore it anyway for my friend. I don't think it was what she expected either. The picture in the bridal store's catalog looked much lighter.

I was the Matron of Honor at a friend's wedding HECK NO! It was the heaviest, hottest dress in the world for an August South Carolina wedding and it was so plain I might as well have been wearing a paper bag.

I was a flower girl when I was little....and loved the fancy baby blue dress I got to wear.
I was also a bridesmaid in a wedding....and yes the dress was nice.
But, remember that the wedding day is about the bride and the groom...if someone doesn't like what they have to wear they don't ever have to wear it again. But, ones personal fashion sense should not interfere with the bride and grooms day...It is after all their day to shine.

Ive been in 3,
as a flower girl back in 1990, I wore a teal colored dress that frankly doesn't matter now
I was in one where it was all red and white (ugh, soooo cliche) and the dresses were out of stretch fabric that only looked good on stick figure girls, I'm not a big girl, but I am most certainly not a stick, average perportions, and so it was truly awful on most of us, they were red with a sheer black overlay like titanic...not so gr8!
I was in one where I was maid of honor and we wore 2-peice fushia dresses, the tops were strapless with a wrap detail and the skirts were a-line with a train....they were ok, I looked good in the color and the dress fit fine, but its not something I'll wear again, plus to be as plain as it was I thought it was really expensive, and that bride had the nerve to complain about the price of the dress she is paying for my wedding! (exact same amount!)
