Don't really think it's a disorder, either than her knowing full well that her life sucks and she has no control over her own destiny. Plus, she's full of jealousy and envy over other people.
Just tell her to grow up and mature a bit. That's what her problem is.............immaturity and jealousy

My sympathies are with you ... I had a family relative who was somewhat like this and it was so exhausting....
My advice to you is:
1. Put her in the hands of professionals if you can get her to see them because you need to lead a normal life. However it is not always easy to get a person to consult a professional ... first they need to admit that there is a reason to do so; and unfortunately, it can be expensive. If she will not see anyone then ...
2. consult with professionals yourself so you will know how to deal with:
a: yourself (very important, lest you should be disturbed too much by her)
b: her problems ...
If you find that she will not see anyone, and to make short work of the situation, see if you can invite a professional who will remain "undercover" but agree to appear at a family gathering of some sort... dinner and coffee in the living room so that he / she can see your relative first hand ... and help you with your interactions with her ...
It is all very "interesting" but the most important part of it all is: how are YOU taking it and is YOUR life normal? If not... do your best to make it so because people can ruin your life ... and it takes time to get over such things ... the ravages it can make on your health are astonishing, to say the least.
Peace and Love
p.s. Just this last week someone stole something from me. In the first place, I flunked because I was angry with her for
2 days! In addition, I had not realized what a pathological liar she was .... just a few minutes ago, she came over to me and did a little song & dance, and for some insane reason expected me to believe it ... or? .... was that her way of apologising .... or even of telling me that she was refusing to apologise at all? Really, it does not matter: I know that I cannot trust her ... and that is all that counts. It still surprises me to know how stupid people are, though. In addition to the psychosis. And, bad.

It sounds very much like Bi-Polar, or Split Personality. Seems at times she can control it while others times she can't . There was something I heard about this case one time and it was a Chronic thing. Most of it comes from denial. I would look up Bi-polar. A few people I know have it, and they can really drive ya Crazy! They think they are on top of the world and in control and I think their denial state of mind makes them ignore the fact of their issues. Goodluck!

I cannot recall what the disorder is right off the top of my head, but this person, sadly, is suffering from a psycological disorder. If you search psycology web sites and plug in those symptoms, you'll probably get your answer. Part of the problem is low self esteem, and lack of self confidence. Both of those are psycological issues.

I've seen what you describe. The family is going to have to pull together and shun this woman, make it painfully obvious to her that she is not welcome. And you may even have to get restraining orders on her so she will leave you alone.
The people I've seen these behaviors in usually have some form of schizophrenia.

it could be that she is just an ****. these behaviours, if you showed an psychiatrist, would probably not be conclusive enough to diagnose something. I just think she's an **** unless you have anymore strange behaviours that are really not normal like talking to herself for long periods, etc.

my aunt does exactly the same thing, its very scary and as you say believable. she has caused such an enormous family feud, and it started just before christmas. she acts one way with our family and another way with her sisters. i dont know what its called, but i know how you feel. its like she has a split personality.
good luck xx
