Getting flat abdominals is not all about crunches. Crunches only work the rectus abdominus muscles (the ones that form the 6 pack) You need to work all the muscles in teh abdomin especially the deep trans abdominus.
Start by making sure your posture is strait and strong. That alone should make your stomache look flatter.
Replace your desk chair with a stability ball and play around as you sit at your computer. The act of balancing on the ball will constantly work your core muscles with little noticable effort from you.
Follow this workout daily. If you dont have a lot of body fat this should fix that belly up really quickly.

EXERCISE!!!!! Well, obviously, you want a healthy diet too, but you need to exercise those muscles. Your abs are the hardest thing to train, but it can be done.
Try Pilates - the whole idea of it is that it strengthens your core stability muscles (basically the band of muscles around your stomach and back).
Sit ups can do the trick, but you have to be so careful with them that you don't hurt your back or your neck. It's also really difficult to target them in the right place - you can flatten the area beneath the breast area reasonably fast, but it's the next bit down that takes the work. I believe reverse crunches can help - lay back, put your legs up in the air and bring them back a little towards your face, then lift your bottom off the floor using your stomach muscles. You'll probably need to cross your arms across your chest to avoid the temptation to put your hands flat on the floor next to you and use them to push you up the air.
Good luck!

Exercise everyday, eat and have a very healthy lifestyle, go jogging at the park. Also, having a positive can help work at reducing your stomach. Don't worry too much because studies have shown that stress does increase fat in the stomach. Be calm and work at it.

Get this book called Six-Pack Abs at amazon, great ab workouts, that hurt and do develp your muscles from personal esperience. Their there, I just need to get rid of a thin layer of fat.
Much better than typical situps, and the book is not expesive in the least bit. If you need to get rid of fat though, personal arobic exercise and weight lifting are needed. You can't get a flat stomach through ab workouts, it only increases your muscles their, it does not get rid of the fat there.

Depends, if it is deep submuscular fat you may never be able to get it flat. But crunches for upper abs, leg lifts for lower abs. Proper diet

Sit at the table during dinner and grabbing the table edge, push yourself away.
crunches will not remove the fat from your belly.
crunches will increase your ab muscles but the fat will stay until you lose it by dieting.
