There 3 ways to do this that I know of at home, 1st by downloading the disc that may have come with you digital camera, then take some pictures and insert your media card into your computer's tower (if you have a newer model). Then just follow the steps to transfer images. Even some of the newer computers have limited media access like mine and if that is your case then you'll need a media-adapter.

I was able to by-pass this option because of my new printer, it has the correct media port for my Xd card. I place the card into the printers media port then go through the transfer images process.

Some models of cameras and computers work via USB cord witch should have come with your new digital camera.

Good luck and I hope this information was helpful. (77)

One way you could do it is to purchase an adapter with a USB connection on one end and a slot for your camera's memory card on the other. Then you won't need any special program---the computer will read that adapter the same way as a flash (jump) drive and you can move or copy the files onto your hard drive.

That's what I do. And it works just fine. You can purchase a photo editing program (like Photoshop) to clean up or edit the pictures.

All you have to do is, with the cord you already have, plug it in to the camera and computer. Click "open to view files/folders." Once your pictures open up, click and drag the pictures into a folder you create. That's how I've always done it. I've never installed any software and I've never used a disc or manual. Good luck.

The easiest way is to acquire a card reader, plug that into a USB port on your computer, take the card out of the camera and place it into the reader and your problem is solved. Readers are relatively inexpensive but you must get one that is compatible with the card your camera uses. I always transfer my pictures this way as you don't have to use the camera batteries.

you may need to download the drivers from the website. Just type the brand of camera into the yahoo search engine and then go to the website and get the driver from there. It may also help to replug into the usb slot and see if its plug and play.
