I have nothing important to be sad about, I have a good job, my husband loves me very, very much, my family is fantastic and loving, I just had a dissapointment since I started a business and had no success at all but what makes me feel bad is my health, I'm always sick, if it's not a cold, then it's a problem with my kidneys or its an asthma attack but it's "something" then I go to the doctor I take my medicine and some days after I'm sick again. I'm quite sure this all is caused by myself, what do you think?

The first thing you need to do is get your health under control. Be sure you are taking a good mulitvitamin and antioxidant supplement to keep your immune system healthy. Next you mentioned asthma so get rid of all of your toxic cleaning products and laundry products etc and replace them with all natural cleaners. Most of the regular cleaners are registered pesticides. Once you change your cleaning and laundry products thoroughly clean your house with the new stuff to get rid of any residue from the old products. Shampoo your carpet and furniture using the new products too. For fighting depression you can try taking St Johns wart which is available in the supplement section of your local store. I think once you get your health back you will be much better.

It sounds to me like you are depressed. Taking medication for depression is paramount to your improving. I don't think an asthma attack can be caused by this, so you may have other ongoing health issues, however, it is important to take care of your mental health. Have you discussed this with your husband? Does he view your behavior differently than in the last few years? I would seek help and get on some meds, I think you will see a big change in your feelings. Good luck.

Try good nutrition, sunlight, and exercise. The body is a lot more sensitive to the mind than some people believe. And the reverse is also true.

And yes, a little good chocolate is also beneficial.

Another thing you might try- and this is not guaranteed- is to find something to laugh about or be happy about every day. A good comedy movie, for instance. I have a DvD of Ray Steven's classic videos that is absolutely hilarious!

I can understand why you don't want meds: I have to be careful with them too. But it wouldn't hurt to make inquiries at least.

Good luck!

There is some clinical evidence to suggest that a little bit of very good quality chocolate (and we're talking a MINIMUM of 70% cocoa solid here) can help with depression. It stimulates nerve cells in the brain to produce anandamide. This chemical activates the same cellular receptors as THC, the agent in marijuana smoke that causes a pleasurable "high" (1). It also contains certain alkaloids that may raise levels of serotonin in the brain (2).

I had a bout with that last year sometime. I couldn't understand why I would be feeling so depressed, when there seemed to be no apparent reason for it. I talked to a nurse friend of mine. She said in many cases it doesn't have to do with circumstances regarding life. But a chemical imbalance. That some people just have a chemical imbalance in the brian that causes levels of ,(forget the word) but lower levels of that, which usually cause you to have that happy-high feeling. I am pretty anti-pill. I hate taking them. I always look for the alternatives. I found that Saint Johns wart and a few of the other herbs to really help in my case. I also try Acetyl L-Carnitine, it is for memory, but seems to help me with clearer focus, which does help. I wish you alot of luck!

I am doing it now - sleep enough - if you need 10 hours take 10 - vitamines - a light lamp - I have gone for jobs I NEVER went for before when I was on meds. I am much more competitve and do not give up easily anymore.
