Pumps and other high-heeled shoes tend to put alot of stress on the longitudinal arch of your foot. The stress is caused by the height and the angle at which your foot is placed on the shoe as you are standing.....it literally causes your longitudinal arch to stretch from the overload. That is why it might cause your arch to seem like it is falling.
What I can suggest is for you to get lower heels or even low heel mules, and whenever possible, go barefoot for a little while (15 to 30 minutes) to give your arches a little break from the stress.
Also, when you take your shoes off, exercise your foot muscles by curling your toes inward and then outward again, for about 2 minutes......this should relieve some of the stress.
I hope it works out, and your arches make a full recovery.
Best of Luck!

A popular misconception is that our feet need arch support. I really find it hard to believe that our bodies were developed and evolved with the anticipation that footwear with arch support would come along for us. I started going barefoot as often as possible, even going on some short hikes barefoot. The first thing I noticed when I started hiking is that the muscle aches that accompany getting into shape included the muscles in my feet. Soon my feet began to realize the needed to get into shape with the rest of my body and have never felt healthier. Constant arch support makes your feet lazy and dependant on this artificial support. Take off your shoes as often as possible and get them conditioned to support themselves. Most people kick off thier shoes to relax and get comfy when they get home so you'll probably enjoy being barefoot as often as possible. Try going for walks barefoot occasionally - It definitly helped me.

You can buy special inserts for your shoes to support your arches.Make sure you get the right kind though. Not all of them fit into dressy shoes. If you don't support your arches, you will get bunions.
