I'm not sure if I would enjoy believing in nothing just for the sake of arguing with those that do.
Everyone has a right to their own beliefs yet we taunt one another because of it.
Is your combative nature towards "believers" a Freudian slip that you too might have suppressed beliefs in God, but are afraid to assert yourself or commit to something that is greater than your own ideas?
any belief that can raise a society or individual to a greater ideal is OK with me! ...We are all searching for something in our lives. whether it be wisdom, enlightenment, or basic happiness.
So, let me ask you... Does disavowing people's choices or paths to their goals get you any closer to your own?

I am afraid you miss the whole point of faith. We don't believe bcos we know, we have belief because without faith it is impossible to please him. In other words, unlike you, we don't need or have concrete answers. We just have a convincion in the useen and the unknown.
You don't realise this, but u do exactly the same thing everyday. For instance, have you ever looked inside your head and seen your brain? No, but you believe you have a brain because the doctors and scientists say so everyday. When u make a deposit in the bank, do you wait until you're let into the strong room to see that your money is safe? You just give it to the teller and believe that it'll be in ur acc the next time u check, don't you? So if you have faith in these things without questioning, why should we have answers or questions to what the alpha and omega says will be? Just as you have never seen ur brain but believe you have one because there are numerous accounts that it exists, so do we believe in our God because there are numerous accounts that he exists.
We don't hang onto missing pieces of the puzzle that make us unsure because the chemist does not hang on to the fact that the cause of depression may not be neuro-chemical at all before he makes us those anti-depressants.
And if we dislike that you challenge our belief, it is because, like the chemist who believes in chemistry, we believe in our God and we don't like to be meddled with especially if ur not an expert.

Religion is a personal thing and a personal choice and up until recently did not come into the public eye wherein athiests (other religions did too) tried to change the government and the way the USA does things. Otherwise there is no dislike for athiests unless they insist their religion or non-religion is right for everyone.
Our believing in God has nothing to do with any dislike, and our belief is true so that part of the question should not be mixed with your other part wher eyou ask about disliking. But even here, athiests mix two statements (one true and one not true) to try to make a point...so the end result is that no point is really made.

I think that most people like a respectful challenge to their beliefs. However, so often it's done rudely or condecendently (if that's a word). Personally, I'm surprised that people are annoyed by each other's beliefs. I would only be concerned if a person I loved was an atheist because I wouldn't want them to go to hell. Why, however, would an atheist need to challenge a christian's beliefs except becuase they want to be right. I don't know. I think a lot of christians have this need to be right too. We live in a free countrty though and no one needs to be defensive about their beliefs. If a person is attacking my faith, I will under no circumstances engage them in conversation. It's pointless

Ok. As every "atheist", you and your questions and your answers are all sophists, fallacious.
In this case, you show do understand what belief is. It is not the case that "it is true or false", like the school exercises. It is the case if believing in something given at the moment as inexplainable, such as your origin, the universe's orgin (including the a priori things for the big bang), amongst others.
Plus, no one "dislike" atheists"; we do not accept dogmatic people that cover themselves in fallacious things: "it you do not prove God's existence, then It does not exist". As well as atheists cannot prove the non-existence of something (because this is a logical necessity and to prove It suppose to consider It as existent), they stay on a vicious circle, affirming that "we don't know because It does not exist and it does not exist because we cannot know what is beyond our senses;God is beyond our senses, therefore It does not exist..."
In other words, you necessarily will always fall in contradictions or will do fallacious questions or will use sophist argues.
Ah, please, quote this you wrote to a question of mine:
Using God as a dumping ground for everything you dont understand is only the evidence of lazy thinking [RELIGIOUS KNOWLEDGE IS A DIFFERENT TIPE OF KNOWLEDGE, NOT EXPRESSION OF LAZY...] and you being bias towards any other possiblities. The top scientists are 85% Atheist [WHOM SAY THAT? WHERE?], 10% agnostic [IDEM], and 5%. theist []IBIDEM]. That's because the more you know, the less likely you are to believe in God [E.G., F. CAPRA DOES NOT SAY THAT; A. EINSTEIN DOES NOT SAY THAT; SARTRE TOO; ARISTOTLE TOO; WITTGENSTEIN TOO; SHALL I GO ON?].
So, please, stop making an epistemologic war here ... because people like will find out the meaning of knowledge, as a whole in different types, on the bed deaht (just like F. Nietzche). which is not good.
Okay. Sorry for my language mistakes here. I don't master English very well. Try to overcome them...
Tnx and passar bem!

Okay then take this challenge. Tonight go to a place where you can be alone, get on your knees, eyes closed and say. God the only God of mankind, I do not believe in you, if you really exist show me so I can be a believer. Be sincere DO NOT MOCK GOD. And trust me, something will happen to you, maybe not the same day, or week, or month or even years but you will see something and when you see it you will believe but after wards you will wonder was it real? and this no one will believe you when you tell them, so most people keep it to themselves for fear that others, even others so called believer will not believe.
Try it, take the challenge. And when this work and you are interested in having a relationship with your father, do the same thing as before, alone, eyes closed, concentrate and say to him, teach me to be whom you want me to be. and leave it at that.
God bless you my friend.

There is no challenge to be had. This life is for choice. Nobody has the right to take your choice from you. Certainly I as a Christian don't have that right, and God doesn't want the choice taken from you - He is the one who decreed that you have one.
That said, Why would it be a bother to me if you want to challenge something? I have no problem with that. However, if you are looking for someone to beg and plead with you to save your own sorry ***, look somewhere else. God does not require that of me, and I know better than to beat a dead horse.
Want to be athiest? Be an athiest. Want to be an arabian elephant rider? Be an arabian elephant rider - what is that to me?
You have to sail your own ship. We are in this flesh life to make a choice, and if you've made yours, then thats one-down and however many to go. When this earth age is over, and Christ returns, we can all get on with our lives in peace. Your mom might cry that you are not there, but I won't.
The only thing that bothers me is when an athiest just spends hours and hours on this forum asking stupid questions thinking that they will get some little fuzzy minded Christian person to be shocked or upset. Its ridiculous. A real Christian will tell you to sail your ship to hell if thats what you really want to do. period.
Have a good one.

Seriously, what year is it????? I am Christian and i do not mock or defy anyone's beliefs. I respect anyone's opinion even if I do not agree.
You shouldn't put such a vast generilization on any religous party...
thats like some close minded person saying all black people steal.. which I know is NOT true.. Think before ya speak hun!
Just because someone believes in something doesn't mean they are horrible. Obviously you have been ridiculed and mocked for your beliefs, and that is wrong, but don't take that out on the rest of the world. : )

I am not afraid of atheist challenging my belief in God presently. I do also realize that I may have to overcome them seeing other 'Christians' that have not overcome (passed) certain tests given Christians. I also realize that I do not presently know the answer to every question that every atheists may pose; that does not mean I am 'wrong' in the belief either.

Well some Christians dislike this and some don't. Some dislike it because they are merely infants in their faith and struggle with having a solid faith and are worried that challenges to their faith would led them astray.
I myself though I recognize I have a lot of growing to do, have never said or acted like I don't like it when people "challenge" my beliefs. In fact I am an open-minded rational person and like to put myself in the shoes of people who don't agree with me. Sometimes I challenge my faith, without being instigated by an outside source. Everytime I do, it seems eventually my faith goes deeper and stronger.

This may sound odd, but everyone is able to take in that time has been, always will be, and has never had a begining, or end. so thats pretty big to take in. God is much the same. Ask any christain how their life was before and after, there is a huge difference. Plus, when youve experienced the "other' side (you know who I mean) Its hard not to
