Absolutely not. The rule of thumb when cooking with wine is to not cook with anything you wouldn't drink on its own. That does not mean that you cannot use "Two Buck Chuck" or a less expensive wine for cooking, but under no circumstances can you use rancid wine in a dish and expect it to turn out fine. Rancid, spoiled or "corked" wine will ruin your dish not to mention your appetite! Would you cook with rancid oil simply because you have it on hand? No! The cooking process, while able to integrate the flavors of wine into your food, cannot turn a rancid bottle back to good again.

i would find another bottle. I do not cook with wine I would not drink. You can use cheap stuff like 2 buck chuck. Which is entirely fine. But keep in mind that when you cook with wine you concentrate the flavor. Two Buck Check stuff is like a waterdown version of whatever varietal it is. Which is OK. But I generally use slightly more expensive wine when I cook as I like a bit more rich flavor. If the wine is rancid would you drink it?

Probably, but to be safe buy another bottle of wine. The general rule is to only cook with it if you'll drink it.

I would have to say no. Even if cooking the wine killed the bacteria, the taste would probably be terrible. I would throw it out and potentially avoid a nasty case of food poisioning. If you cann't drink it, I wouldn't cook with it.

I even have used 'regular' wines with diverse roasts that I knew have been in no way going to be inebriated. As for white cooking wine, there are diverse sauces. i will enable somebody else field the main factors approximately that!

When in doubt throw it out. If it's not acceptable to drink you shouldn't cook with it either. Rancid is rancid regardless of what you do with it.

Yes it can. But, if wine tastes like crap, it makes the food taste like crap.
