I used to think being successful at being single meant having a girlfriend . A psychologist told me "That's part of it, but that's not all there is to it !" . What else is there to being successful at being single ? How would YOU measure being successful at being single ?

I'm single and very happy. I think it means being okay and not feeling that you need someone else to complete you. Having your own stuff, coming and going as you please and not feeling lonely because there's no one permanently attached to you.
I've been a boyfriend and a husband but have been separated for over 3 years now. I'm more at peace with myself, make better decisions (without having to deal with someone else who goes against everything I do regardless of common sense.) Even my kids tell me how much happier I seem now that I'm away from their mom.

To me, being successful at being single is realizing that you don't NEED another person in your life to bring you happiness when you can be happy because of who you are, what you do, etc. Once you are happy with yourself and can live your life without thinking of yourself as "single" or "attached" or whatever, other than a happy and fulfilled human being, then you will be in a better position to find that special someone if that is what you are seeking. If you don't find that person, then you will live a happy and fulfilled life as a single person because you don't NEED another person to make you happy. To me, that is being successfully single.

you,re successful at being single when down deep you are satisfied with it. You are open to suggestions and opportunities for a relationship, but if it does'ntwork out you're not crushed by it.You really feel like when or if the right person comes along you'll know it, and if he/she doesn't you can still be happy and successful with your life.

In my mind being successful at being single is being happy with yourself and knowing that you do not need to be in a relationship.
Using the opportunity to improve yourself, reach personal and professional goals. I think single people who do that and don't obsess over being with someone are successful at being single.

not allowing the fact dat you are alone bring you down decause you are moving on in life as if you had someone standing by you modivating you the whole time
