try running or going to the gym. i was in your shoes once, and all i did was watched what i ate. instead of eating a cookie, opt for an apple. do a few crunches before you go to bed each night. run instead of walking to the mailbox. i know it may seem like a slow process, but all that effort adds up fast.

You would be surprised at how you can lose weight fast just by avoiding sodas, eating better and getting active. I don't mean working out for 2 hours a day, but just making a point to do some cardio for 30 mins a day can knock off the pounds quickly. Get a workout DVD or just go for a walk everyday. You will start to see and feel a difference in no time.

first of all, no matter what size you are, you've got to have CONFIDENCE there is nothing more beautiful, more sexy, and more envious than confidence- here's a tip, if you look people straight in the eye, they won't notice what you are wearing.

But since our society puts such strain on being thin- try exercising- if you cant get to a gym, try running, push ups, crunches or even just dancing around your room for 30-60 minutes can help you burn calories. When your body is at rest you burn about 500 calories. So you essentially need to burn more than you take in. Eating non processed foods and lots of lean protein and veggies will help make you feel full and will make your metabolism work harder burning more calories. you cant lose 40 pounds in a week- but eating right (not always less but healthy- you can eat all the veggies you want!!) and exercising will bring up your endorphines and your confidence! trust me, people will notice!

The only way I lost weight when I was 14 was to eat right and exercise for 20 mins a day.
Stay away from sweets, fried foods, and soft drinks.
Drink plenty of water, eat lots of high fiber foods, raw veggies, and fruits.
I was 160 when I was 14, I did all this and went from a size 12 in women's to a 7 in 6 months and weighed 130 lbs.
Good luck.

Rockie
I am 3 times your age but have been burdened by over-weight issues since I was 12 years old.I can totally relate to your concerns.
May I suggest a better plan.
Look at your weight problem in a wider scope. Don't create an even more stressful situation than you already have by creating a weightloss deadline!
Start today as the 1st day of the rest of your life and alter your eating habits slowly by eating smaller portions more often with healthier food options.
2ndly, find a physical activity you enjoy and do it more often.
3rdly, Start a journal and document your daily eating and exercise.
Weight yourself once a week and do not attempt to crash diet for the sake of a quick-fix!!! you will gain even more weight in the long run.
Good luck to you.

Rockie, there is NO way to lose weight fast without hurting yourself. You put it on slowly and it has to come off slowly.
Your answer is to make your mind up to the fact that it is going to take a mind change with your eating habits and then stick to it. After you make your mind up that you are going to lose weight, then cut back 50% on what you eat each day. Give it 7 days and you will begin to see the weight fade away. There will times, along the way, that your weight will hit areas where you will think you have stopped losing. Wait it out. Another seven days and it will begin to drop again. Stay away from sugar sweetened colas!!!! Also try to exercise. This may surprise you but losing weight is NOT the big problem but keeping if off AFTER you have reached you ok weight.
Good luck. Pops

Since you are only 13, you still growing so having a serious diet is not good for your health. How about eating healthy and exercise? You drink water instead of softdrinks, you eat salad with a small portions of meat instead of a big bowl of spaghetti, you go exercise everyday or at least everyday. Walk when you can instead of taking a bus. Stand if you can instead of sitting down. To lose weight have to do it bit by bit not fast, fast losing weight never works!

Lower your calories, if you drink sodas and eat chips, substitute those for flavored water and veggies to snack on. Count your calories you should eat around 1200-1400. Look on the back of labels and keep track, have journal. make sure you count serving size. Not the whole bag of something will be 100 calories, if the whole bag holds 5 servings. Then youll eat 500 calories. You know? Dont starve yourself because your body will go into starvation mode and hold on to the fat in your body to "survive"

I have found that speed walking is pretty good and easier on the joints, but you have to do it at least twice a day for a min of 2 miles for it to do any good. I went from a 36" waist to 31" in 3 weeks. Eat more healthy and use multi-vitamins. Good luck

I hate to break it to you, but there is no quick weight-loss solution. The pills and diets advertised on TV NEVER work and could actually make you sick. I would go see your family doctor, who can hook you up with a nutritionist. Both of them can give you advice on healthy eating and exercise. Most importantly, don't listen to the skinny little idiots who judge you for how you look, or who try to advise you. Ignore them, because someday they'll be working in the mailroom at the company where you have the gigantic corner office! Then YOU can give them advice. Tell them to kiss your grits!!
