Bread and soup!!! Why talk to a person about someone who will supposedly save their soul when they die, if they are dying of starvation?
That's why I hold in contempt many people of the world religions. They preach and preach, but do nothing to HELP.
I am a Pagan and have taken the time to share my food with others. When I come across people who need something, housing, food, a vehicle, etc., I don't preach or ask them what they believe in, I just ACT. I have made several long-time friends that way.
People are so caught up in their own little worlds, they don't take the time to actually DO anything for others. People are also so afraid. They are afraid of not being thanked, they are afraid of something taking TOO much of their time, they are afraid to get involved lest some will take advantage of them, they are afraid of getting dirty, they are afraid of someone hurting them or killing them.
I don't want to toot my own horn, but I'm one of those people that figures if I have something and I meet another who needs something, why not share? Yes, I have been taken advantage of and even hurt by some, but why should that stop me from helping? I'm certainly not afraid of getting dirty or even death. Even though I don't believe in a heaven, I do believe my energy will be taken care of by the Universe. Many people believe in an after-life, why should they be afraid of death?
I cannot give money, as I have little, but share when I get the opportunity. If we all shared what we have, wouldn't this be a much better world. Stop judging others according to what they believe in and just HELP!!!

Give him bread and soup then follow up with a piece of birthday cake.As you are watching him eat the bread and soup tell him that you are a representative of Jesus then hand him the cake. If he starts to ask questions about the cake, then he is indicating that he is "ready" to hear about Jesus, ready to move from mere "survival mode" to the higher levels. If he turns away from the cake he is satisfied and needs nothing more. If he asks you how to get more cake take him to the most "real Christian" you know and let him learn how to bake his own cake.If the most real christian you know is you, yourself, then take him home, give him your bed to sleep in and help him find a way to support himself and do not ask for a "thank you" or expect any reward in return.

bread and soup, then a job. If forced to pick, many Christians will allow the person to die as long as they know Jesus.

i would give the starving person bread and soup (but in reality, i'd give them a krabby patty).
why? because in the laws of that jesus guy, it says, thou shall not kill, now wouldn't watching a human die of starvation just the same as killing the said person? there is no law in the law of jesus that it says, thou shalt force others to know me.
so soup and bread it is.

Without a doubt give them the bread and soup!!
Its funny how some extremists (of which I have nothing against since they would do some things for God that I would only dream about), would actually place a bible in front of their face instead of a bowl of food.
Yes its is true that Jesus said "man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that comes from the mouth of God" but this does not apply to these kinds of situations. God showed us the best way in the book of James 2:15-16. Unfortunately too many people are just words and no action, and this is one of my favorite chapters because it tells us to get off our lazy butts and do something.
The verses read as follows "Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to him, "Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed," but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it?" The way we glorify God if by acting upon and in our faith in Christ.
What good are your words, God says, if you do nothing to help?!
And my all time favorite verse that sums it all up: "...Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by what I do." ~James 2:18
Amen, preach on Brother James, Preach on...

if you have to ask this question then you should know the answer, if a person was starving and you cared enough to think about it, wouldn't you agree with me that through Jesus, you would bring that person bread and soup.

Many christian organizations that supposedly feed the world's poor and starving actually give the bread and soup, but require you to "know jesus" (convert to christianity) as a price tag.
If that isn't extortion, I don't know what is.
