I am 20 y-o and about 3 months late. My cycles are normall every month and this is the first time this has happened to me. on top of that I occasionally have headaches that last for a week, literally. I have no insurance at the moment, actually I have to wait for my card but until then i just would like for your opinion.

i have been active with my bf all of november but i know I am not pregnant. i dont feel pregnant and all my pregnancy urine test both at home and at planned parenthood are all neg. So I rule that one out. But as far as the late period and headahces I dont know what to say. Please if you know any information or related experience please feel free to share. Thank you.

I know you don't have insurance, but you may want to get a professional to do a pregnancy test for you. You could at least try to go to Planned Parenthood or a free clinic in your area.

If that is absolutely ruled out, the other big possibility that comes to mind is endometriosis. Some signs of endometriosis are irregular periods, absence of periods, clots during periods, painful intercourse.

If you have endometriosis, this can only be diagnosed by a doctor, and unfortunately usually only completely confirmed by a laparoscopy (surgery).

If you have endometriosis and let it go too long, the adhesions (scarring) can cause extensive damage, and it could lead to infertility.

So it is important that you go see a physician as soon as possible to see if it could be pregnancy (possibly ectopic which is also dangerous), endometriosis, or something else.

Especially at your age, you don't want to risk your health, your fertility, or possibly your life.

I have a friend with 3 children who had negative pregnancy tests every time she was pregnant, even the ones the doctor gave her....so it IS a possiblility. My first sign of pregnancy was breast tenderness, any of that with you?

If you're totally sure it's not that, my next question would be, are you healthy in other ways? Sometimes girls with low body weight, or extreme physical or mental stress skip their periods. That could explain the headaches as well. I'd say you're body's telling you somethings going wrong, get to the doctor as soon as you can.

A urine pregnancy test can give you a false negative sometimes, so it might be best to have a blood pregnancy test done. Wait until you get your insurance card and make an appointment with your family physician or OB/GYN and let them know what is going on.
