Yes Rob, the Bible does say to crucify the flesh. There is a point in me asking this question entirely. If we pray based on what the flesh wants, then how can we expect to get an answer? That's praying amiss isn't it?

At Matthew 6:9-13 Jesus gave us a model prayer, a guideline as it were for things for which we can pray. So you are able to pray for:
1) The sanctification of God's Name
2)Let God's Kingdom come
3)Let god's will take place on earth as it is in heaven
4)Daily provisions such as food or anything else
5)forgiveness
6)delievrance from satan
Notice that in this model prayer God's name and purpose is given priority. This does not mean however that we cannot pray for personal things.
Infact, Phillipians 4:4 tells us that we should not be anxious over anything but in EVERYTHING by prayer and supplication...let ur petitions be made known to God.
So i guess the point is you can approach God about anything.

There is no need to pray. Whether you pray or not makes no difference. In the end if you are destined to get it you will. I get what I want without praying, if I dont get it I think its destiny and I am very very happy.

I pray in the name of Jesus. That can be seen as praying the way Jesus would. At least I try to.

I pray in tongues and work. Why do people think God rains down what people want/need when they pray.

I don't pray. I go to work and earn money and buy it. I never pray for rain either. It comes when it gets here.

When I pray I scream and shriek and talk in tongues, and my place in Heaven is assured cause of my fervor and excessive holiness.
