Christians and "pagans" alike are persecuted in various ways.
Yes, today in the United States persecutiong against Christians is probably minimal. And Christianity is the mainstream beliefs. Yet just because other beliefs have it harder does not mean that Christians are not persecuted.
I agree that for the most part its easier to be an Christian American than any other belief system. Being a Christian is "acceptable." However, I do see an underground movement where that is changing. Where America will soon become a post-Christian society if the trend continues.
I am a Christian. I have never said it was easier to hold to a different set of beliefs in terms of persecution. Not sure who you are talking about.

It's a strategy for retaining adherents. If believers think that they're a special group that goes through terrible persecution together, they're more likely to stay in the fold. That's why so many Christians love to complain about how they're treated, and in fact why the Bible has that verse about how persecuted they'll be for being Christians.
It's really just an example of the evolution of religion.

Actually, Christians are persecuted as well as non-Christians. It is unfair for a Christian to judge anyone else because the bible does say "Do not judge, for you too will be judged" (Matthew 7:1). It also condemns judging anyone else because there is only ONE "judge" - God and God alone (James 4:11-12). As far as Christians getting "special treatment" and whatnot...that is not true so it's unfair for you to say that as well. You aren't any better than anyone else because you are making "unfounded" statements that cannot be proven either. Bottom line is...if you choose not to be a Christian, that's fine. You will receive whatever reward or whatever punishment is coming your way. Same goes for being a Christian...I personally believe that I will be rewarded in the end for following my faith, but there definitely will be trials and tribulations along the way. My advice to you is not allow yourself to be like everyone else...do what you feel is right and don't be concerned about anything else.

I think you have it backwards. The sneering goes the other way. Most likely it's coming from your own ilk. One thing I can see in your writings is bitterness and lies. For instance, going to hell 24/7? Please. Evidence abounds of something gone wrong in your life. Obviously you're not getting satisfaction out of life in your current lifestyle. Overly occupied with Christians and what they have vs what you don't have. Maybe that's a clue.

I know I've had more then one Christian accuse me of wearing an inverted cross, when I was wearing a Thor's hammer. Most of them have no idea what that is when you tell them. They still sneer at you.
I agree about the harassing part, I've had more Christians harass me then anything. Even on here, sending me nasty e-mails telling me I'm a devil worshiper and I'm going to burn in hell. Yes, really showing the love of Christ eh?

I always say its easier for a non believer to not believe than to be a believer. I never say it in regards to Christianity.
But for sake of argument of your question. Christians are called brainwashed, ignorant, intolerant, worshipers of sky fairies.
Since you are pagan. I would agree that you are persecuted more by Christians, however you are not persecuted more by atheists, Muslims, and agnostics, because you don't go by a set of specific doctrines which cause some of those believers to be intolerant, bigots, etc.

because they live a lie and the fact of the matter is that they beleive what their sunday sermon master tells them and then a few of the more devious ones interpet what they read and do not even fully understand because it was written so long ago and has been changed so much that the bible is not a tool or a device of love but an insidious rot that festers and corrupts i would beleive one would gain more spiritual lessons from life itself or the necronomicon before the bible

Wow that's alot of anger - please don't compair all Christians as the same.
I'm sorry you are treated badly and I'm sorry for what you have to go through.
I am Christian - and as a Christian I am not allowed to judge others. Therefor the poeple who judge you for your believes has lost track of their believe - I'm sure.
As Christians we are to tell others about our religeon yes, but you can't force anything down someone's throat if they don't want to accept your religion as theirs.
You can use it in your defence next time you get treated badly that as Christians they are not to judge - other than that - all I can say is I'm sorry

They assume it is easier because the Bible says they will be persecuted for being Christian so it must be true.
I've never actually seen this occurring in any of the western countries in my lifetime but they do claim it to be true.
I have seen racism firsthand and they say racism is dead.
