They have an office in Canada and have funds that help children, if you don't have a lot of money. You don't have to sponsor a child, but you could do $10 a month to "unsponsored children" for children who don't yet have sponsors... you can write to them as well while they await for something permanent.

make sure that the money you donate will help not only today, in the short term, but that the money you donate will do something for the future as well.

for example, your $10 canadian could go to a charity for Phillapine children, and they will take out most of your donation for operating expenses, the salary of the people that work for the chairty, and advertising costs, and then finally, send a bit of your funds to provide enough food for a meal or two for your targeted Phillapino child,

or,

you could donate to a cause that will help prevent the suffering of enitre **generations**, not just one person, and will make the ***entire world*** a better place for everyone.

My organization (International Family Aid & Support Center) does allow for sponsoring children for C$5.00 per month, but we are not yet registered in Canada. I will try to find a child sponsoring agency in Canada that allows sponsoring to children for C$10.00 per month.

We do have volunteers working from Canada and Canadians serving missions in other Countries. At this time, we are evaluating the posibility of moving our international headquarters either to Canada or to the USA.

The children we have for sponsoring are in Africa and Dominican Republic, where it is easier for Canadian and US sponsors to visit them. But we don't have sponsoring for Phillipine children at this time, because we don't have volunteers in that country yet. You'll need your parent's consent to donate to any child sponsoring agency because you are still a minor.

any organization will take any money that they can get...just be careful that the people at the top of the organiztion arent enjoying a great chunck of the money themselves.
