Teachers and other educators (including classroom aides, counselors, and principals) can deduct up to $250 that they spend on classroom supplies as a deduction on Form 1040, line 23, “Archer MSA Deduction.” Enter "E" on the dotted line to the left of that line entry.

The forms aren't as yet available and won't be until sometime in mid-February. Check the irs.gov website for exact dates. Anyone with educator deductions will need to wait until the IRS can accept these forms to file.

It's not on the form itself, since they were printed out well in advance. But the deduction does exist: it's just a matter of marking it correctly...

Congress didn't pass the law for this until after the forms were finallized.
There are instructions at IRS.gov as to what to do.

This is a great question....I was wondering the same thing??? I thought they did away with it this year. Can I take it on my usual 1040A like last year? I looked on IRS.GOV but found no specifics about it.
