maybe you need a in-home nurse. does your health plan authorize compensation for a in-home nurse. maybe you should check into that. i am so sorry to hear about your condition.

What has changed if you are already disabled? Is this a progressive disease?
Talk to your MD about when you need to investigate placement. Depending on the state you live in, there are usually groups that can help you find somewhere to live where people can care for you. The lowest level of care (when you are the wellest) is board and care, then there is assited liviing, and then there is nursing home or chronic care.
Even if you had family around you they might choose not to physically care for you.
If you want to remain where you live then you will need to hire someone, either through a nursing agency or privately to come in and take care of the parts that you need help with.
The main thing is to begin to get the information you need to make your choices.
Feeling sad about loss and being alone is normal, but you won't get anything done if you focus on that.

No matter what your disability, you are not a piece of a man. You still have feelings, breath, a mind that can think, and a beautiful soul. Even if you would have to go into a rehab center or or disability home, it's not the end of the world. Put yourself back together and do what you have to do to overcome your disability and go on with your life. My dad died when he was 43 and I only wish that I could have helped take care of him. I did have the opportunity to take care of my mom. I thank God everyday for that fact. She was totally disabled and although she didn't want to live that way, she accepted it and tried to go on with her life, even though she was not able to move. There is something intended for you to do to help others. Figure out what it is and never feel sorry for yourself. At least you are here for a purpose just as I am. God for it and may God bless you.

wow, have you been by yourself for long? What kind of medical asst. do you have? You may be able to get a nurse to come in. Maybe not every day because I know the state isnt going to pay for much, but I am sure it will pay a nurse to come two or three times a week. No, wait a minute, three days is pushing it, maybe two?? Look, if you need someone to talk to ya e-mail, I am always home...........klinedarlene@yahoo.com..........I will be looking forward to hearing from ya. Take care now.
