My boyfriend/fiances feet stink so bad. His shoes are gross, which then makes his socks smell so bad, its like rank. I can't deal with it.. they get like sticky. What am I to do? Will new sneakers and socks and spray help this or is this something else?

The bacteria that causes odor needs a warm, moist, dark place to live and breed. Shoes are like incubators. Wash or replace the stinkey shoes. Then ware them as little as possible. I had stinky feet too but since I started going barefoot as often as possible the smell went away. When you have to wear shoes, don't wear the same ones over and over - rotate them to allow them to dry out and kill the bacteria that wants to live inside them.

Your boyfriend has a serious foot infection problem. The smell is caused by bacteria (bacteroides to be specific), stuck to the skin of his feet and embedded in all his shoes. Powder and deodorizes will not kill the bacteria, the only thing that will is alcohol. Purell will do the job because it's mostly alcohol. Ask him to wear fresh socks every day and wear a different pair of shoes every day (to allow them to dry out). The real solution: have him Purell his feet morning and nights and after showering too- it will solve the problem within days. For a more permanent solution on top of it, you must fix his shoes. If they can be thrown in the washer, do it 1x with soles removed and in the washer too. If you can't wash them, get a bottle of rubbing alcohol from local drugstore, put it in a spray bottle, take out the soles of his shoes and spray down everything inside including the soles (should only have to do this 1-2x per month at most). If he Purells his feet twice daily for 1 week continuously, you will definitely notice an improvement. That solved my problem (powders, deodorizing soles did nothing for me).

Tell him to soak his feet in 1 part vinegar and 9 parts water for 15 minutes a day and this should help with them smell. If his shoes stink there is not much you can do try using febreeze or just getting new ones LOL. But the vinegar thing does work.

Stinky feet on some guys is just from lack of hygiene. Once they pay better attention to hygiene they will see results. Deodorant to their feet changing socks often. Washing their feet etc will help a ton. Hand sanitizer to kill bacteria will help.
