What's the best car for a 17 year old to learn in - and how much should I pay for one in good condition please?

Go by insurance costs because 17 year olds are VERY expensive to insure. Often their first car costs less than £1000, but the insurance can be double that!

All I will say is whatever you get as your first car it will always be the best car you will ever own. I still miss mine....sniff.....

ford fista or a fiat punto great small cars pay no more than 2000 max but a decent one will only be 1500 dont oay too much you always have a little bump in ur first 2 yrs best of luck x

For a learner, I would go with something small. A Kia Rio is what I learned in. You can get them use for around $2000.

Something small. around 1000cc will be good. and also cheap to repair and having some quite good security options
