It says on the back to compare it to the holy bible and it seems just as good just cheaper in price. I just dont want to go to hell for buying a cheap plain wrapper bible.

I think you've made an excellent move. You've moved from not having a bible to having one. The fact that you bought a "cheap plain wrapper bible" can never detract from what you've done.

The original language of the Bible is in Hebrew, Aramaic. This means that the English translations all are not exact translations because whenever a text is translated the translater might change some of the words or sentences to say what he thinks it should mean to the reader. There are many different English translation. All you have to do is compare, for example the King James and the New International Version and the differences are so clear that they will jump up at you. So my advice is not to take individual words too litterally, but instead try to be tuned-in to the meaning and larger message of what you are reading (not the individual words).

Excellent start.

If in doubt, you shouldnt have bought it. Never buy a cheap version of the Bible. Get an original, may cost more but better safe than sorry. to many people make to many interrpretations of the bible and not for the right reasons but to interpret the bible to suit their own needs and church.
You wouldnt go to hell even if you did. Just prey to God you made the right choice, if not, confess. Our God is a forginving God.
Honestly get the real Version, new Testament or Old. I like to keep to the original mainstream bibles. Thats my opinion and I sure wouldnt have bought the Walgreens. Honestly if in any doube talk to a mainstream minister.

The short answer? Yes, it's the same. The King James translation is not modified much regardless of the printer.

However, you may have a problem in the afterlife. Jesus correctly counselled that actions, not words and study, are the best indication of a life well spent.

Many who claim the religious high ground conveniently forget the basic teachings of Jesus and resort to a type of nationalism and militarism Jesus would have found intolerable. If you fall into this category your mortal soul may indeed be in jeopardy.

The main difference in that and something more expensive is that a more expensive bible will have histories on the author of each book, a topical index, and note translation changes that have been made. Since you have internet access, you can download a great resource called e-sword for free (see link below).

No, it's just fine, all bibles, have the same message, look up all scripture referring or regarding God's kingdom. If you wanted a cheap Bible, you can get one from Jehovah's Witnesses for the price of a donation. If you just don't have that kind of money, they will give it to you.

As long as it is the real Bible, and not some cheap thing mimicking it, then it doesn't matter what brand name your Bible is. No, you won't go to Hell for not having a brand name Bible.

It depends on what the product is....there are some things that I buy the brand name of because the generic just does not measure up. Most of the time I get generic though.

That bible is no good. You need to buy the Douay-Rheims bible.
It is most complete and accurate with no books of the bible left out like you will find in the KJV.

There are many translations. (over 100 I am told). Somewhere in the book it will tell you what translation it is. No translation is perfect, some are better than others. I like THE SCRIPTURES by the institute of scripture research. I like to compare four or five different translations on questionable subjects.

Its pretty obvious that you are being silly.
The part of you that isn't just flesh - the intellect of your being - your own thought processes, feelings and emotions - do you think they are cheap? Does that part of you really not exist at all, or do you just ignore the self in you? Are ya just a slab of flesh, is that all there is to you?
If it is, then its best that you spent as little as possible. Good for you! Way ta shop!
