I was wondering what people thought which denominations of christianity or anybody else for that matter, muslim, jew, athiest, ect. Do you think they are wrong and why/why not)

I remember a lot about this when I was very young and they were very popular. One of the reasons I am now interested is because i have recently started playing war hammer with friends. Its a game, it fun, it has ridiculous things like wizards that can throw fireballs and hobbits in it. Only the insane would think it was real and its very social, more so than any video game.

No.

Warhammer is fun! I remember playing Necromunda which is a smaller scale version of it. I had a tyranid gang. It was cool.

Yeah, I went through that whole poo poo with the church back in the day when I started playing AD&D. I don't practice witchcraft (no offense...) nor do I worship the devil.

I know a lot of true practicioners of magic can tell you that the magic systems in the game no way reflect how they do it.

I think they called it evil because it had demons and magic in it. They never bothered to really take a look at it. Its called judging a book by its cover.

There are always advantages and disadvantages to any escapisms. V-games, role playing games, TV, movies, reading, writing. Anything taken to extremes can be bad.
Yes, there are plenty of people who do not know where reality begins and ends.

I did sit-down RPG all through high school. My group of friends were all outcasts, but we stuck together and made a great 4 years of it.

I did Rocky Horror for 8 years. Some of my closest friends came out of that time.

I did live action RPG for another 4 or so.

In the end I gave each of them up because they were taking up to much of my time. They had stopped being escapes and had turned into full time work.

Now I am spending too much time on Y!A. I guess it runs in phases.

It's rather ironic that Christians would pick on games like Dungeons and Dragons, given the fact that many of the classic villains the players oppose in the game are taken from the Bible! (For example, Moloch, Baalzebub, Mammon, and other devils and demons the players are pitted against to overcome are found at various points in scripture; you'd think they'd APPROVE of a game where the players are trying to take down these guys, but go figure...)

If they remain just games, there is no problem. If they become obsessions, then they are a problem.

From a Jewish perspective, while playing such games are not inherently sinful, one does question whether the time spent on such activities can be better spent.

Nope. I've been Christian most of my life and I played D&D for years.

It's a great activity amongst friends, stimulates the mind and encourages cooperation.
