Maybe! (Sorry with the NO and YES, I thought we should cover all bases).

False hope and sense of security? Well if hteir beliefs are wrong, then what they hope for won't happen, but often that hope and faith (false or not) helps some people through hard times. Even though I don't believe, people are and should be entitled to have their beliefs and draw what strength they can from it.

That all depends on what you believe. I believe that Jesus died on the cross so I could be forgiven for my sins. So i could go to heaven. If you don't believe that than you will think that Christian use this to just give them hope. I have seen miracles happen right before my eyes. It is not something I have heard. I believe that Jesus can do anything.

All religions grant fake desire. The have the same undemanding premise: shop on with the guidelines of this faith and you will stay for all eternity in the loving include of "insert call of deity right here". the only challenge is that there isn't one tiny piece of info to assist this declare. additionally, lots of the flaws that get human beings into paradise require that they work together in acts that are sexist and discriminatory in direction of "unpopular" minorities. lots of those religions additionally tacitly or overtly inspire homicide, toddler abuse, misogyny, and greater than a number of different violations of human rights, all in the call of the specified deity. faith isn't something greater advantageous than a pill made up of salt and pepper that we are informed is sugar and, in the path of the breaking of the human spirit, we are made to like it.
