There is nothing wrong with counselling. You only need to make sure that you select a recognized therapist not some quack.
It helps to talk through issues and concerns with someone else. The beauty of a therapy session is that they are focused on you for 50 minutes. It isn't like with a friend where it is about both of you.
Go for it!

If it helps you, fine, do it. And my suspicions are that it will help most people.

Still, there are a few souls out there who seem to get addicted to counseling, and their counselors don't want to end their clients' dependency. And I would say too that there are some clients who actually seem to become worse because they take on the emotional reaction style and advice of their counselors -- in other words, no real healing (and decision-making on their parts) has gone on.

Would I do it? Yes. If you get the right counselor, it will be very helpful.
