I work in a casino in Manchester and I don't think the Super casino is a good idea. It should have gone to London, they have the punters to play and it won't affect the other clubs. If it wasn't for the fear of shouts about backhanders, London would have it and by the way, Blackpool, NO.

Bad news. I don't for a moment supposed that all the jobs that are said to be created will be well-paid full-time jobs. but low-paid, mostly part time jobs, or at unsociable hours. Worse, adding a 'super casino', and possibly up to 17 'normal' casinos, to a country that's eperiencing rising gambling adddiction, seems absurd.
I don't often find myself in agreement with bishops, but both the Archbishop of Canterbury and the Bishop of London are surely right to question whether huge gambling complexes are the only way we can carry out regeneration.

Manchester got it because they were scared of the backlash if London got it about backhanders! London should have got it, the other casinos in Manchester will suffer!

i think its good.more pubs didnt create more drinkers it just gave them a bigger choice.longer hours didnt create bigger drinkers it just gave them flexability in time.a big casino will just accomodate the same and also it will be a welcome change from the seedy and seemingly undesirable establishments we have today.
it will create jobs and make a unsightly area more pleasing to the eye.
you will see that the moral brigade will AGAIN be very wrong

Good.
Good for the lawyers, the buiders, the taxi drivers and the staff to be employed - oh, and the Exchequer.
Everyone else has to take their chances: 'Place your bets!'
