I have a four cylinder wrangler now, or should i try to buy a 6 cylinder wrangler? I want to lift it 3" and put on 33" tires, i figure i can just re-gear it and put on some 4:10's or should i just work on getting a 6.

On the trails, a properly geared 4 cyl will keep up just fine with a 6 cyl. The biggest place you'll see a difference is on the road where a 6 cyl will leave a 4 cyl any day. Also, 33s with a 3 inch lift may rub. Either go with a 4-4.5 inch lift, or stick with the 3 inch suspension and a 1 inch body lift. 3 and 4 inch body lifts can be bad off road where you're getting knocked around due to the fact that they can break and leave you in a very bad situation, but a 1 inch will do just fine and will even help with driveline angles giving you a smoother ride. If you are dead set on 33's with a 3 inch lift though, get a set of bushwacker fender flares ( http://quadratec.com ) or something similar that will allow you to cut your fenders out a bit and give you more room.

Depends on what you are going to use it for. If you want it lifted to look cool, and do just a little bit of off-roading, then wait and get a six. If you want it mostly for the wheeling and don't mind that you might be one of the slowest cars on the road, then stay with your 4. It will be a lot easier if you stick with the 4, the weigh less and the chance of busting a half shaft or a u-joint is a lot less likley. Whatever you do though, you need a lot bigger lift to fit 33's. I have a yj(91) with a 3 1/2 suspension and a 2 inch body lift, and my 33's still rub occasionally when I am doing some tough wheelin. My dad has a tj (00) with a 4 1/2 suspension, and it rubs every now and then with 33's as well. Also, do a better job of regearing than 4.10's. Mine is a six, and I put 4.56 with a true trac in the rear. I sit right around 3k rmp's at highway speed, but any lower and i would be havin a much tougher time crawlin in 4low.

If you plan on modifying your Jeep, you should also get the larger engine 4.0 Liter Inline 6. They are great engines, bulletproof pretty much if you take care of them. If you put the 33" tires on there you will have problems with that 4 cylinder engine. Definitly get the larger engine, you won't be sorry with the larger engine, and fuel mileage wise you aren't going to really see a difference because the larger engine doesn't have to work as hard as the 4 cylinder.

ya i would try to go for the 6 cuz its got way more power. you can regear only to a certain point your gonna still have that lack in power and the gears arent gonna help anymore. especially if you lift it more then just 3 inches then your gonna be screwed. so ya try to find a jeep with a 6 or if you really want to go crazy drop in a stroked out 6 then you have a lot of power and will never have to worry about it.

My girlfriend has a lifted 6 cyl Wrangler and it kicks butt. The 4 liter has gobbs of powers. I'd say look into a 6 and then some day lift that puppy.

your no longer in basic terms doing this for women are you? you're making plans on taking that element off roading appropriate? If it has a advance and not a scratch, dent, or piece of dirt on it, your making up for something that is smaller than a three inch elevate, in case you get what i'm announcing.
