Depo provera contraceptive injection can cause premature bone thinning. If suspected you can get a bone scan if have been on it for 5 years or more.

Sensible advice is good diet high in calcium, get outside plenty to make sure your body has adequate vitamin D ( as sunlight needed), and do plenty weight bearing exercise if concerned.
