i have a similar length of hair and whenever i go for a hairstyle the length of my hair is reduced drastically.but here i find that the style is good yet length is long.
plz. tell me the mane of the hairstyle...what do i ask the stylist to do?

It's long hair cut in a V
Just take your picture to a stylist they will know exactly what to do, sometimes it's much easier when someone brings in a picture then trying to explain it.

take the print of the photo to the stylist
