I have two Nikon lenses (18-55mm & 55-200mm) and a SB-600 speedlight. I have attempted registering the products with their serial numbers, but the numbers seem to be invalid. Where are the serial numbers located?

I have them on two slightly different places on the lenses. The thing is, the numbers are only about 1 mm high and they are not painted in with white. They are just stamped into the lens barrel, so they are hard to see. You may have to use a magnifying glass to see them.

Look on the bottom of the lens where the smaller white "Nikon" label is. On one lens, the number is on the barrel of the lens between the zoom ring and focus ring. On the other, it is in such a position that it would be very close to the camera body if the lens was attached to the camera.

I have an SB800 strobe. If you tilt the flash straight up and look on the "underbelly" of the light unit, the number is there under the Nikon brand label. They are a bit bigger and easier to see onthe flash.

Good luck!
