My husband and I have been happily married now for 9 months! We do have our differences though. I would like to just keep my wedding dress just to have it. However, He is not a big fan of clutter. He would like for me to do something with the dress instead of just putting it into a box. So what can I do with my dress? I do not want to sell it I would like to keep it in one form or another.

I've seen curtains, pillows, table runners (usually don't have enough for a full cloth), framed sections.... even saw a chair (small chair) that had been recovered with her wedding dress. Lots of things. You can also rent it out. Charge a small fee for someone else to use it, and have it dry cleaned... why not make some money back of the thing.

How formal is your dress. I am getting married next year and the dress i have i love for 2 reasons. 1 its beatiful and fits both the venue and what i wanted and 2 i can dress it up and down after the wedding depending on where i want to go. I made sure to find a dress that i got more then one use out of cause i can't see spending alot on a dress that i can't wear again and i have boys so i can't really pass it down lol.

Why not see if you can store it at a parent's/friend's/relative's house?
And I wouldn't exactly call your wedding dress "clutter".

If you decide to disassemble your dress, you could have a christianing/baby dedication gown made from it. Make a special anniversary dress that you could wear to dinner.
You can also have some hankies made so that you can give your daughters or daughters-in-law something to carry on their wedding day.

my mom is making her wedding dress into christening gowns for when my sister and i have children. (mind you we're both 18 or older) they're very pretty, and it's a nice way to pass it on through the generations. or you could make a memory blanket or something simar out of it. my friend and her sisiter do horseshows (i know, totally not related, but the idea is nice) and her mom is making a quilt out of all the ribbons they've won. i think if you did something like that and hung it on a wall with your wedding photos it could be a nice way to keep it and rmember the day. or you can save it for your daughter someday. that's what i plan on doing with mine.

make a curtain for a window that faces the front of your house as a reminder of your wedding day. If that doesnt pan out, keep it in the attic and make a baby's blanket when u have a kid (make it with the softest part of the dress, make sure you take off all the beads, sequin...)

Hang it up at the back of a closet with other dresses or coats. That way it will be out of the way and your husband shouldn´t have anything to complain about.

A neat thing my sister did with her dress, was have my mom make it into a baptismal gown for her first born child. After my neice was baptized in it, my mom sewed her initials on the inside lining, and it's been an heirloom for all the grandkids ever since- with each having their initials sewn in after baptism.
