My gal Melrose is talking about having 5 or 6 kids with me; I am thinking more like 2-3 kids. From experience, how many kids is really too many to handle? Money is not the issue; my concern is with devoting enough time to each of them.

I only want two kids because I think with two because there is me and my soon to be husband then we will be just fine. There is this lady on TLC I see the show every once in a while because they do updates on her she just gave birth to her 16th child they are all home schooled and because there are so many of them she has paired each and everyone one of them up like the older ones buddy with a younger one and the buddies are responsible for making sure they both get dressed and brush their teeth and what not. I couldn't imagine having that many kids it is nuts. I think it depends on the individual person my cousin has three boys and they all get the same amount of attention but the mother is always on the go for soccer games, hockey, basketball, softball and so on. But she does a fabulous job with them. It just depends on what you think or better yet know you can handle. Good luck. If you don't have children yet or your girlfriend doesn't have children yet wait until you have one. I always thought that I wanted 3-4 kids and once I had my son and over the last 14 months I have seriously reconsidered and decided I only want two at most. It isn't that I don't love my son or love kids it is just that my fiance is a welder and they work crazy hours and he was just offered a job in the union which is huge where we live at and pays amazingly well and if he took that then he would be gone anywhere from 1-3 months at a time periodically and right now my little one is a hand full to me. Good luck

You should always have an even #'d amount of children - 2 verses 1 or 3. This way, everyone will have a partner for rides at Disney World. But seriously, you should never have more children than you can afford to put through college - and for most of us, that translates to 2. If you are squeezing out kids right and left and thinking - hey, they're on their own once they hit 18, you're doing them a great dis-service. People will never crawl out of their poor socio-economic backgrounds because their parents had too many children that they couldn't keep up with nor afford to educate them properly. If you can't put your kid through 4 years of college, you have NO BUSINESS breeding.

As many as YOU feel is too many. Nobody here can tell you that. Just see how it goes. The first poster said more than 2 is too many. No, i totally disagree. I am pregnant with my third and couldn't be happier!! You can devote as much time to all three kids if you make the time. Most people are just too lazy to do so. But that is your decision.

Anything more than two is too many, in my opinion. Seriously, you don't need bodies to run the family farm. Why do people want 5 and 6 kids? I don't get it.
