Was just at Fernie, B.C. this Sunday/Monday and the temperature was -12C with a bit of a wind chill. Layers were the key for me staying warm - and stay away from cotton garments. Base layer was a poly-pro long-sleeve shirt and 300 weight poly-pro tights. Second upper layer was a 100 weight poly-pro mock turtle with 1/4 zipper. Third upper layer was a 300 weight poly-pro jacket. Outer layer was a Sierra Design Goretex shell coat (snowboarder cut, with no insulation) with a hood. Pants were a baggy style ski/snowboard pant. Head layer was a poly-pro balaclava with a wool toque (beanie in US) that has ear flaps and a poly-pro half-liner - keeps the wool itchies away. Goggles and snowboard gloves (with 200 weight poly-pro liner) and a thick pair of Thorlo Hiker wool socks finished the ensemble. You could add a polypro vest (windproof) under the jacket for a bit more core warmth. Why all the poly-pro? Because if you perspire at all, you will not feel clammy and will keep warm. The added benefit of the layers is if it does warm up, you can peel one off and toss it into the backpack or locker at the lodge.

a million. Thermal underclothes is ultimate, yet leggings could be ok, I placed on tights below denims for the evenings to maintain heat. 2. It relies upon whether you want to flow out interior the evenings, yet I even have in no way seen anybody out in a tracksuit in a ski motel interior the evenings. I placed on what i might placed on decrease back abode (skirt and tights, denims etc). while you're on a chalet trip and not making plans on going out interior the evenings i might nonetheless take something somewhat smarter than a tracksuit for dinner, whether that is in basic terms denims. 3. It relies upon on your own determination. while you're possibly to wipeout lots i might decide for goggles as they are much less possibly to fall off! although, on particularly sunny days goggles can get surprisingly warm so which you will want solar colorations. If I have been you i might take the two, as in case you flow out in a snowstorm solar colorations won't do the activity! 4. particular contacts are risk-free to apply. I went on a snowboarding trip with a bloke who wore contacts familiar and develop into unquestionably superb.
