I recently got wedding digital wedding photo's from my sister. An on-line photo service printed my pictures. However, they came out funny. I noticed two white stripes on the 4x6. I found out that photographers use a big format ratio. How can I easily crop the digital image down to right ratio used by 4x6 prints? I need an easy way that allows me to pick the region I want to use. I don't want to cut off people's heads.

In most minilabs, there will not be a white edge around the image area unless the tech overrides the machine and makes it so. (And some machines cannot be tricked into printing white empty space.) If you must have odd proportioned crops, either plan on having them professionally printed, or leave white canvas space in your file. If the file includes the white space in canvas, then the machine will print that space. Otherwise, your image will be cropped to fit whatever standard size print you are ordering, often with huge loss in the image area.
