Need more info. Model, action type, condition, age. A Ruger rifle can't really be very old. They made pistols and revolvers before any rifles were built and started making handguns (just 1, the magnificent Standard .22 semi-auto pistol) in 1949. The first Ruger rifle was not made until the '60s.

A 77 with a tang safety? I like those better than the swinging-gate safety, but that doesn't translate into any collector's money. And it isn't very old, because Ruger isn't that old a company. Probably from the 60's, and sight-unseen in the $300's?.
