A very long time, I've eaten peaches that had been canned 40 years earlier. The color of the peaches seemed a little pale but they tasted fine.
I believe as long as the can doesn't swell up or rust thru the food in the can will be OK many many years later. Perhaps the vitamin value may have decreased, I would not know about that.
