How do I insert watermark or a copyright tag in my digital arts and what are EXIF and IPTC comment?

I want to insert a copyright info in either text format or image format in my digital artworks and photographs,created and edited with Adobe Photoshop.I don't want to use DIGIMARC filter either.What does the terms "EXIF" and "IPTC Comment" properties of a photo or image mean?
