the 2 sons cross the river first, then once they get to the other side, one would have to get off the boat and the other would have to return to the bank where the father is, when he gets there, he too would get off the boat but this time the father gets in the boat and would cross the river; father gets there and the Son that already cross the river would return to pick his brother and return together.
I heard this riddle when i was a child, i did not solve it then, but after days i was told the answer ;)

Two sons row across together
Son 1 remains, Son 2 rows back.
Son 2 gets out, father gets in and rows across by himself (100kg)
Son 1, on the far side, meets the father.
Father gets out, Son 1 gets back in and rows back across again.
Son 2 joins him and both sons row back... and join their father.

father goes acroos after tyin rope to the boat the 2 sons then pull boat back across to them and climb in and off they toddle
