There are metrics for Knowledge Transfer?
I thought it was just a fancy term for teaching someone how to do something.

KT is the process of imparting training on a specific domain / application to someone who intends to either
a. Enhance the application or
b. Fix Bugs in the application
Since KT takes the form of training, all training related metrics apply. In other words, the metrics in most cases tend to be abstract..
You can have Pre training Evaluation and Post Training Evaluation.

KT is, most generally, any activity where one person "teaches" another person something they know.
There are many methods for this, including lecture, laboratory, one-on-one, written tutorial, mentoring, observation, etc.
As far as metrics, I'd include:
* Cost ($ and time) of initial implementation
* Marginal cost ($ and time) for additional simultaneous/non-simultaneous students
* Retention
* Repeatability
