Cash crops are basically any crops raised for market. It can include food crops, but also crops raised for animal food, making items, such as cotton and hemp and recreation such as tobacco, etc...
So food crops can be cash crops but cash crops are not necessarily food crops.

Cash crops could be things like tobacco, cotton, flax, indigo, things grown for a purpose other than eating. Food crops are obviously things you eat, broccoli, lettuce, beans, etc.

Yeah, cash crops are crops animals eat, thus grown for animals and food crops are grown for people to eat. Soybeans, field corn, alfalfa, etc. are cash crops. These products (some of them) are now being used to make clothing, gas, etc. Food crops are just for eating like apples, grapes, oranges, etc.
