I think at 3, not everything should make sense of what is said!!!!!! My child just turned 4 and sometimes he makes no sense! I think she said it once and now she just says it in a saying as she remembers saying it! She may even think it was cute to say it!!!!!! Atleast it is a nice saying!!!! She may had even wanted you home and was hoping you would and then there you were so it could mean to her she wished you there!!!!!! I think this is so normal at 3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She has a very active imagination! She doesn't see anything when she closes her eyes but sees you when she opens them. She doesn't quite understand why this is. That's probably why she says this, or it could be she imagines you in her head and when she opens them again youre suddenly infront of her. Or she might think that the world around her goes into her eyes when closes them and comes out when she opens them.
She could also be wording it wrong. That is cute tho.

Hmm thats a toughie. Perhaps she means that when she closed them you weren't there and when she opened them there you were... confusing for her... but the connection between your sudden appearance and her closing and opening eyes might lead her to believe that you were there all along but that she just didn't see you at first. Or that she quite literally thinks she "blinked" you into appearing. (Kids love the idea of magic)

I love that. My 3 year old is always stringing phrases together that are a little off. When I react to something new she says, she'll say it over and over again. You probably reacted sweetly to her new idea and now it has meaning to her, like, "There you are" or "Where did you come from?" It sounds like she's just playing with language — creatively I might add.

Maybe she's more aware of hers dreams when she's actually sleeping. You could be in her dreams a lot and usually when she wakes up your not right there but sometimes when she just closes her eyes, you are??? That's what it sounds like to me. She's separating dreams and things that are out of her dreams.

it is a science fact that there is no frontier between dreams and facts for children specially lower ages, maybe she really thinks that you can come out of her eyes (I'm sure she has very beautiful eyes), she will understand when she grow up more...

I think that it sounds like she was maybe dreaming or even thinking about you and then when you sneaked up on her, there you were! So she thought that because she thought/dreamed about you, that you magically appeared. So that's why you 'came out of her eyes'...

It was a surprise to her, she didn't see you move from where she knew you were last. That was the best way of describing how she thought you got there. Not that she thinks you crawled out of her eyes, but it might have felt like magic to her.

You're not being uptight or overly sensitive. Why do people say things like that? I do think, though, that she had been thinking of you, and then there you were. Very cute, I bet you'll be telling her that story when she's older.
