to ask this question - the thought of seeing her is in your mind. go - if you don't - you'll never know if you did the right thing. at least by going you'll know - it just may be the thing the two of you need to get back on track; and, if it isn't the right thing, you'll be no worst off than before you went to see her. good luck - i hope it works out for the best.

Funny, my family is going through something similar.
The whole thing is your step mum may very well need you at this time. You can be on bad terms, but you need her and she needs you. It goes hand in hand. Although things aren't bright between you two, I'll bet you still love each other, and that should be more than enough to gather yourself and visit her. No matter the times, whether it's good or bad, you should make every effort in visiting your family count. You may never see her again and you'll remember that you weren't in good times when that happens. Do you really want the last memory of her being that? I don't think so.

Go see her. It doesn't have to be a long drawn-out deal, but if you don't, you may miss out on something good, and you'll later regret it.
It is true, that we shouldn't do things simply for appearances, but at the same time, sometimes it's better to "suck it up" and do something nice for others whether we feel like it or not.
You might be suprised at her reaction.
Just a short visit. It won't hurt anything.

You should see her if you possibly can. If you are more comfortable, call and arrange to meet her at a restaurant and buy her dinner. That might be a great step. She will not live forever and you need to be on good terms when she is no longer with you. Have a great day.

If the 2 of you aren't on the best of terms, this could be your chance to change that. Take the time to go and see her and try to talk things out. You will both feel better if it is resolved.

Just the fact that you are asking if you should visit, tells me that you want to make things better. Go visit your mom, at least you are making an effort, if she doesn't make an effort towards a positive outcome, then you can rest knowing you tryed.

Yes, go visit. You should cherish every moment you can spend with loved ones, you never know when they'll be gone. Be the better person and try to make things right.

Yeah. Definately go & see her. If you are not "in good times" - you'll make two people very happy. That can't be bad. You'll be amazed - it'll be well worth the effort. Go for it.
