I have my mind set on becoming an LPN, but I haven't got a clue what to do next. Thing is, I dropped out of high school for... personal reasons, but I now have my GED.

I'm currently saving up money for college; I'll only be going to an Community College because there's no way I can pay for a university, and I've yet to find a company that will help me pay.

Basically, I'm just looking for things I could do before college. I'm thinking of maybe volunteering at the hospital; but I'm here for more ideas that can help me.

Volunteering in the hospital is a great idea!
Another thing you can look into is becoming a nurse's aide. These programs are usually short
and not time-consuming. You learn alot. And you havea greater chance to be chosen to enter a nursing program with some experience in the field.

look into being a caretaker. either thru a nursing home or hospital or at a residence.

check to find out what grants and student loans are available to you.

there are a lot of trade schools for cna's and lpn's. so you might not have to go to a college to get a certified.

if you are going in to nursing, i would def. recommend just sticking it out and going thru the whole rn program rather than lpn though. lpn's have to do a lot of the 'dirty work'... and the pay is not great

best of luck...

The best thing that you could do to help yourself along, is get some experience working in a hospital or a nursing home. Get certified as a nurses aid.

Have you thought of applying for an internship? Or a nurses aide? That would look great on a resume when looking for a job.
