Area Code 912 was one of Georgia's original two area codes. It originally covered the entire southern half of the state including the cities of Savannah, Macon and Albany. It now covers the Georgia coast, including the cities of Savannah, Brunswick and St. Marys. It also includes the area within about 90 miles of the coast including Waycross, Statesboro, Douglas and Vidalia. The former western part of 912 is now Area code 229 and includes such cities as Albany, Valdosta, Tifton, Fitzgerald and Americus. The former northern part of 912 is now Area Code 478 and includes such cities as Macon. Forsyth, Warner Robins, Dublin, Eastman and Milledgeville
