first you need to call a couple of people that will help you with a place, food, drinks, their is a lot to do if your going to do this your self or you could have it a restaurant but let everyone know that they have to pay for there own and that you are paying for your parents have everyone pitch in for the tip to tip the server's and there is no mess for you to clean up . call your favorite place and ask them if you have a party of lets say 25 what kind of a menu and price could you give me on that party ask him if you can bring your own cake some times they have baguette rooms which the doors close and you have your privacy make sure this is a surprise a 25 th wedding anniversary is very special good luck with your plans

Is this for a surprise, or they will know of the plans? If they will know, please ask them what they would like. If a surprise, please let the guests know not to say a thing to them about it.
For my parent's 35th anniversary, because we had the room in the house, I planned a surprise party for them, inviting friends they have know for years, plus people from the church we were attending at the time. For once, I convinced my parents to go out to dinner-without taking me along to "represent the family", and for them to call me when they were ready to come home. They did.
I got snacks like nuts, mints, etc., plus a cake, made to look similar to a two tier wedding cake (a small cake on top of a bigger cake-no pillars) . And, for beverage, coffee, and punch. It was a surprise, and it was fun! Take care.

You should gather together all of their old VHS family movies of all those family events growing up when DAD had the camcorder out, even pieces of their wedding video. and get them put on DVD to music. If you don't have video , pictures could me edited to DVD and music just as well. Have the family over for a party and show the old movies of their 25 years together on a big screen.

Get a pic from their wedding and try to replicate as many of the details as possible as in cake, flowers, colors as your party theme.

Ask your parents what they would like. They might want to do something more casual than what you're originally thinking of.
