It's like deep surface soreness and heating pad makes it more painful. Skin doesn't look any different but cold hurts, too.

If you susoect a blockage in a blood vessel either arterial or veinous should be addressed with your primary care provider (family doctor). The tests involved are for the most part noninvasive and painless. There are many different kinds. Sometimes a small amount of a radioactive tracer is injected into your blood and then the tracer is tracked throughout your body. Other tests are trans echo electrocardiograms whish use the doppler effect to determine blood flow rates. Again the most critical thing for you you is to SEE YOUR DOCTOR. If you have a partial blockage, and IF a portion of that blockage breaks free and makes itself into your brain you WILL have a stroke. This should be enough to send you packing to your doctor, if not, you need to seriously reconsider your will to live.

Some vein blockages are 'silent' and you can't tell they're there without a check-up. But some do seem to cause the pain you describe. See a doctor about it.

Good luck!

I would think you would have bruising and/or a lump if there was blockage forming. But, you should call your doctor if you have not experienced trauma to the area that would cause that type of pain. Here's a good site to search for health info. too. Feel better!

See your doctor. Don't mess with the heating pad. You could have a clot there, so don't massage it either.
