I'd heard mixed things about this. You can call ahead and let them know that you're planning to bring your dress, but if a first class passenger needs the space, your stuff will be moved. I didn't take the risk and sent mine by USPS. With anything important, I send it through USPS because if something goes wrong, it is a federal offense, where with FedEx and UPS, it isn't.

It would have to fit in a carry on that goes either under your seat, or in the overhead bin--you obviously don't want to do that. Flights are pretty much booked solid these days, so gate attendants and flight attendants are pretty strict about enforcing carry on requirements. I don't blame you for not wanting to check it, I saw a report on the news the other day that last year, more luggage was lost than ever before, and the airlines are saying it will probably get worse before it gets better. The other thing you might be able to do is purchase another seat specifically for your dress. However, by that time, it may be less expensive to just send it via Fed Ex--which is what I would probably do. Good luck!

If your dress can fit into a foldable garment bag that fits the airline size requirements, then there shouldnt be a problem taking it on board with you as your carry-on. Otherwise, Fed EX seems like a good idea too.

Go with Fed Ex. If you do take it onboard, it will end up crushed in the overhead bin, squeezed between some guy's laptop and another guy's suitcase. Play it safe and Fed Ex a few days in advance so it gets there before you. Have whomever receives it get it out of the box ASAP and hang it up to let the wrinkles fall out. You can maybe even arrange for a local bridal shop to steam it for you.

Most airlines will not allow you to bring your wedding dress on board. You will either need to have it in the checked luggage, or buy an extra seat. If you buy an extra seat, you'll be allowed to bring it on board.

Continental Airlines will allow you to take your dress onboard, you can just to place it on the overhead compartment so make sure you are seated near the longer compartment. Otherwise, the best way is to contact the other airline company and asked them if you can bring your dress onboard.

i might actual carry it on...yet you're able to assume that as quickly as you get on your trip spot, that is going to likely be wrinkled from being filled into the baggage compartment. Make arrangements to have it pressed once you get to Vegas. i've got not got adventure with Delta, specifically. I did, although, watch an episode of "Airline", the place the airline workers (i think of this develop into Southwest), have been attempting to choose the final thank you to tell the bride that the baggage provider had run over her gown. It develop into torn and stained - thoroughly ruined! i might actual carry it on!!!

I flew American Airlines when I got married and they allowed me to take it in as carry-on. They hung it up in a small closet as we flew. I would notify the reservations agent when you reserve the flight and ask for their specfic policy. That's what I did. They did not count it toward the two bag limit either. I had no problems at all.

Call yuor airline & ask. Different places have different rules. If you have to stop & transfer planes, call there & ask as well. Shipping it wouldn't be a bad idea though.
