The reason why your hair is going gray could be any amount of reasons. The hair fibers appear gray because they are lacking in pigment. Basically what has happened is that the hair follicle responsible for that hair fiber is no longer capable of coloring the hair that it secretes. Scientists do not believe that gray hair emerges due to stress, but from DNA. You're probably getting gray hair around the same time someone in your family is.

I got my first gray hair when I was 15--I'm MUCH older now (ok, I'm 40), and I just thank God for hair color!!! Don't worry, you can start coloring it with stuff from the store--matching your natural color as closely as possible. You'll eventually get to the point (I was in my early 20's) where you'll find the Clairol stuff won't cover the gray very effectively (gray hair is harder to color, it's coarser and more resistant to the color process), so you'll have to go to a hairdresser to get it done professionally. Don't worry, it's much easier to color gray hair than to regrow hair on a bald head--at least that's what my follically challenged hubby tells me!!! :-)

It's probably no big deal. If you start to get more than one you can color your hair. Also, I know someone whose hair started turning white when they were fourteen and it looks really nice now. Don't worry.

We all get them - it's natural. Don't worry about it. At least you haven't got a whole head of white hair!

Yeah, it happens to some of us rather early. I feel it's a mark of distinction, but if you're self conscious about it, get some hair dye.

this is a hereditary thing romi, sorry! the only way to cover them would be to dye your hair or blend them in with blonde highlights
