Here's a pretty recent pic of me.

Here's another one. My hair is a few inches shorter now, but it's the same style.

I've ALWAYS had black hair (my natural hair color). I like my dark hair cause it's healthy and with it being so dark you can see how shiny and healthy it is. I'm getting tired of having black hair and I'm ready for a change, but I'm having trouble deciding what to do with it.

What would you suggest? I'm open to color and or highlights.

actually, i think you would look best with highlights and lowlights. i have the same color hair as you do, maybe even darker, and i usedhighlights in the past to make my hair appear different. however, its important that you go to someone who is knowledgeable, especially if you have never done anything to your hair. why don't you try caramel/mocha/honey lowlights and a few highlights? it will make them seem more natural, and you don't have to deal with the roots in 6 weeks if you just want them to grow out naturally. i think you would be disappointed if you did something drastic.

I love that your hair is black... It works well for you! If you want to try something different you could go with red highlights (matrix redlights) they have different shades of red (but the red itself would look amazing), you could also keep your hair the level that it is and apply a violet overtone (subtle but very pretty especially in natural light) to give it a hue of purple! Of course you could also do blonde highlights (Im more partial to cool tone blonde vs warm but that is a matter of opinion)! I personally would go with the red or an all over violet hue to enhance the level you are at, give you a change, and to do something out of the oridinary! There are many different highlighting techniques (fine, sliced, panelled, etc... ask your stylist to show you examples)! If you were to go with an all over hue use a color shampoo to keep the tonality vibrant (Artec... ask your stylist which formula would best suite you)! You are a very pretty girl and the dark suites you well... We all love change so here are just a few ideas! Good luck and have fun with it! My favorite colorlines are Matrix, Redken, and Goldwell! Ask your salon if they use these colorlines!

I think some honey brown highlights would look gorgeous in your hair. I wouldn't dye the whole head any other color. I think you should just keep your natural hair color and add the honey brown to them. Your a pretty woman and I think it would make your face glow a lot more. Your boyfriend is a cutie by the way!!!

if you want to do it.. just be ready for a damaged hair, weak and dry... i did the same years ago. (My natural hair color is black) but you know what? i enjoy the change!
i would suggest u to try some highlights first, to see how your hair react, if you're not pretty sure about the damage...

If you want a change in color, I'd say go with highlights.. It'll still be a noticeable difference, but not as damaging to your hair. Hope this helps :)

can i firstly say you have the most gorgeous hair so try not to do too much with it!
opt for some highlights just fine ones in a nice red-copper or caramel (not blonde).
also, matrix (a salon brand) do a range which is designed for asian style hair (long, straight, black) with some fab colours so it might be worth looking for a salon that uses matrix colours, they're also not very damaging to the hair at all.
good luck and remember try not to change it too much, its lovely!

Wow, I love your hair the way it is now but I understand getting board with it. I would just put some auburn tint or highlights in it. Not really drastic but a change.

You have beautiful hair why ruin it with color! Wait until the gray comes in Then you will have to color it every 4-6 weeks.

I have really dark hair also, almost black. I recently got carmel hightlights (partial highlights so the underneath is still dark) and it brightened up my whole face. I think they would look quite pretty on you!

enormous concern,Babe. i won't be able to the two. You look warm with the two colorations. yet as quickly as I do might desire to %. i might %. neither one. i will guess you may look lots warmer in purple. purple is the colour of pastime,Hon. the colour that screams "pay attention!" it would tell the adult men to apply warning while they physique of innovations you. you need to be basically too warm to handle. that is my opinion and that is all as much as you. you may actual look warm as a redhead. besides you look at it,you will look stunningly eye-catching. You look very alluring to me. i'm hoping to hearken to from you returned. If no longer,It develop right into a exhilaration to have the skill to write all the way down to you. Have a goodnight and God bless. Bye for now.
